My stay at the Wordsworth Hotel in Grasmere was a mixed experience. On the plus side, the ambiance was charming, and the attention to detail in the rooms was impressive. However, I faced significant issues with room size, cleanliness in some areas, and the noise from a conference next door really impacted my visit. Overall, it has potential but certainly room for improvement.

While the room I received was large, it lacked basic usability, being cramped and poorly designed, which made it uncomfortable.

I was unable to enjoy dining as planned, but I heard the restaurant offered a nice menu; unfortunately, we couldn’t get a table. The breakfast cost was even covered on my bill, which I appreciated.

The hotel is in the heart of a picturesque Lakeland village, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. Our room was spacious and offered a lovely view, but the dining experience left something to be desired, especially with the tasting menu falling short of expectations. Staff worked hard amidst challenges, but some service aspects could have been improved.

Our room was spacious with a great view of the village. It had a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom that felt quite new.

The staff was dedicated and worked hard under difficult circumstances, but some members seemed inexperienced.
Location

Located in the center of the village, it's perfect for getting around Grasmere and the wider Lake District.
Dining
6.0
The food quality was generally good, but the 8-course tasting menu felt more like small portions from the a la carte menu, and some dishes missed the mark.
Facilities

Unfortunately, the spa and pool were closed during our stay, which was disappointing, but the atmosphere around the log fire was nice.

This hotel excels in service and offers exceptional food, making it very appealing for a getaway. My room was comfortable, but I was disappointed by the burnt fat smell that came in through the window at night. Despite these issues, I would recommend this place to friends and consider returning with a request for a different room.

Our stay had its ups and downs. The hotel had a charming ambiance and friendly staff, but our dining experience fell short due to one particularly rude waiter. The location was fantastic for accessing walks, but the pool facilities could use some improvement. Overall, while we enjoyed our visit, the service issues dampened our experience a bit.

Rooms

The room we stayed in was luxurious and spacious, complete with very comfy armchairs. However, the views were slightly marred by noise from the service area below and some condenser units outside.

I recently had a wonderful six-night stay at the Wordsworth Hotel. The suite I stayed in was spacious and comfortable, creating a lovely atmosphere for relaxation. While the dining experience and the quality of the food were top-notch, I found the heating in my room to be a bit too warm. Also, the spa treatments were a bit difficult to book due to limited availability. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to explore Grasmere.

Rooms

I stayed in one of their scott junior suites, which was spacious and had a very comfortable bed and pillows. However, the jacuzzi bath was a bit high to step into.
